What Is Tales of Epitome?
Tales of Epitome is a third-person action-RPG about a hero or villian named Sparrow and his sentient scarf companion, the Umbra Weave. The scarf isn't just an accessory. It's your weapon, your best friend, and your morality meter all wrapped into one. It transforms into combat forms like whips, hammers, shields, and drills. It reacts to the world around you with its own moods and personality. And it changes based on the choices you make throughout the game.
Think Kingdom Hearts meets Crash Bandicoot meets Devil May Cry meets Fable meets Gauntlet: Dark Legacy meets that one PS2 game you played at your friend's house and could never find again.
The Story
Every 100 years the universe births either a Dream King or a Nightmare Lord. This time the Nightmare Lord that was born was so fundamentally evil that the universe panicked and created a raw unformed countermeasure: Sparrow. No destiny. No side chosen. Just a blank page.
Raised in secret by Pops, a retired legendary warrior, Sparrow is thrust into a world of nightmares when they're discovered and forced to flee. Now Sparrow must restore the ruins of Cortex Castle, travel to six themed realms, and either recruit or devour the six fallen heroes who once protected the world.
Every boss fight ends with a choice. Purify the fallen ally and recruit them to your party, or devour their power and gain a devastating new ability. The scarf reflects every choice you make, glowing gold on the good path and pulsing purple on the nightmare path. Choose wisely. Or don't. Both paths lead somewhere unforgettable.
